Sherry Truitt runs a small design studio located in New Jersey, although she hails from the deep south. Sherry and her husband Bob work and live in a restored craftsman bungalow with a studio on the property.
Anything but conventional jewelry + objects is a fluid collection of hand crafted work. It mixes everyday working objects like spirit levels and vintage maps with sterling silver, steel and aluminum to create the pieces found in the store.
Sherry works with reclaimed sterling silver, bronze and aluminum and a new soy based resin as she endeavors to leave a lighter footprint on the planet. She embraces the Japanese concept of wabi sabi, the beauty of imperfection. It’s what makes each hand crafted piece different from the next.
Her map jewelry is worn the world over, to capture the memories of adventures and explorations; to celebrate weddings, as well as for couples that have adopted from a faraway place and for couples who are celebrating milestone anniversaries.
Sherry's map drawer pulls grace the cabinets of explorers and rock stars, nurseries and libraries of the young at heart. You'll also find them on Bob's handcrafted shelves.
